students in their different house colors

Pelham Oaks Elementary School is a family of educators, administrators and support personnel who seek to provide safe, nurturing educational opportunities for our students. As such, we are pleased to announce that Pelham Oaks partakes in a House System! Houses will be composed of students and teachers from all grade levels and special areas, creating an opportunity for students to build relationships with other students and teachers in different grade levels and classes. Being a part of a house provides students with a sense of purpose and belonging. All students, teachers, and staff members are randomly sorted into one of four houses (Reveur, Sollevare, Nukumori, or Altruismo). House Meetings and celebrations will take place periodically throughout the year. This will be a time where houses can come together to celebrate their house’s accomplishments and work on various activities and projects.

Students will have the opportunity to earn points for their houses. This will encourage a friendly competition between the houses. Students will learn how to be team players and how their individual efforts contribute to the overall success of their house. House points will be displayed in real-time on a screen in the lunchroom.

While we will be sorted into 4 different houses, we will remain ONE school family.
