Oak Mountain State Park
Pelham is home to the largest state park in Alabama. With over 50 miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails set in a picturesque 9,940-acre park, there is something for all outdoor enthusiasts to appreciate and enjoy. The park’s facilities include large picnic pavilions and picnic tables with grills, a large open playing field, recreational and fishing lakes, pedal boat and canoe rentals, a sandy beach swimming area, ample shoreline for bank fisherman and a boat launch for your personal boat. The park also offers an 18-hole golf course with pro shop and driving range, mountain bike trails, demonstration farm, rental horseback riding facilities, overnight cabins and tent camping.
The Pelham Racquet Club
With twenty clay courts and five hard courts, there is plenty of space for a tennis enthusiast to schedule a competitive match. For those wishing to learn, the facility offers group, private and summer lessons for beginner to advance players. There are opportunities to join leagues and tournaments of every level for men, women and coed teams. The clubhouse features a pro shop and a lounge area to unwind and connect with fellow members. All the courts are lighted with above tournament grade lighting.
Pelham Public Library
The Alabama Library Association awarded the Pelham Public Library “Blue Ribbon Library” status, the highest honor to recognize excellence in library service. The library offers books, DVDs, music, books on CD, and video games for every age group. The two-story facility also features a computer lab and meeting room. The library staff facilitates a summer reading program and various programs throughout the year for many age groups. Children in grades 6-8 can volunteer at the library as a Junior Librarian. 11th and 12th graders at Pelham High School have the opportunity to become Library Ambassadors.
Pelham Senior Center
The Pelham Senior Center offers seniors in the community a way to stay connected and active. They have their own facility which features a large meeting room, art room, game room and exercise room. Activities include: guest speakers, musical programs, bingo, games, trips, craft programs, sewing and needlecrafts, a book club, movies, line dancing, bridge and art classes.
Parks and Recreation
The Pelham Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to providing and maintaining quality recreational programs for our residents. The department is home to a brand new facility which features basketball courts, an indoor walking track, weights and cardiovascular equipment, and a wide variety of fitness classes. The city boasts a large centrally-located city park with softball, baseball, football fields, a tennis facility, and playgrounds. The city also maintains four smaller neighborhood parks.
Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena
The Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena is Shelby County's premier entertainment, conference, and banquet facility. With two NHL-sized ice arenas (one that easily transforms into 30,000-square feet of exhibition space), a skate school, skating-birthday party rooms, and 7,000 square feet of elegant banquet and conference space, the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena is the ideal place to showcase your special event. The facility is also the home ice for the Birmingham Bulls professional hockey team and The University of Alabama Frozen Tide hockey team.
Ballantrae Golf Club

Oak Mountain Amphitheatre
Oak Mountain Amphitheatre is the largest outdoor music venue in the state of Alabama. Enjoy live music from the nation’s top music artists during the spring, summer and fall outdoors under the stars. The venue features three tiers of reserved seating with a capacity of 10,500.
